Kathy Kaehler's Sunday Set-Up E-mail

Welcome to SNOB Style’s Health and Fitness Week! Being a SNOB not only means that we are always fashion, style, and beauty savvy; but it also means we take care of ourselves because if we only have one body to showcase all our ensembles on....WE’RE GOING TO TAKE CARE OF IT! And that is exactly what our SNOB Style- Health and Fitness Week is all about. Giving you all the tools you need to take care of yourself so that you look HOT and feel even better. Being healthy and physicality fit is very important and everything from what we put in our mouths to how much physical activity we do affects us on a daily basis. Recently SNOB Style’s creator, Erika Stanley, was invited to Celebrity Fitness Guru Kathy Kaehler’s home to hear all about her NEW signature program, Kathy Kaehler’s Sunday Set-up and learn all the in’s and out’s to eating healthy every day and saving time doing it.

Celebrity Trainer and Food Coach, Kathy Kaehler (“Today” show fitness expert) is no stranger to working out nor eating healthy. This working mom and celebrity personal trainer (whose clients have included fellow greenie Julia Roberts, Michele Pfeiffer, Kim Kardashian, and Jennifer Aniston...just to name a few), and healthy living television spokesperson, created Kathy Kaehler's Sunday Set-Up to help make daily meal prep more practical. The concept is simple... Sunday you "set-up" your meals for the week by shopping at your local farmers' market (or natural food market) and selecting, then prepping foods that can be made into a week's worth of recipes. Whether you a party for 1 or a table for 12; Kathy teaches individuals and families on-the-go how to prepare meals for the week while still making good food choices. Not only does the program help stretch your food dollar, but Sunday Set-Up will help eliminate the need for fast food, order in, or take out.

This is how it works:

Kathy teaches you about the most healthy items to stock your kitchen with and how to prepare everything on Sunday so that once your Sunday Set-Up is finished and the items are packed in the fridge you will be more than pleased about all of the mix and match possibilities. You will have meals and snacks for the week, ultimately taking the think time and stress out of eating. The weekly Sunday Set-up will take you no longer than an hour each week and then will set you up for your daily meals for the week to take no longer than 20 minutes from start to finish. Below is a list of items that EVERY kitchen should be stocked with on a weekly basis to give you great “mix and match” options for every meal.

Celebrity moms are loving the concept because not only does it save them time during the week but it is giving their children quality healthy home cooked meals that are not only good for them but also setting them up for a good behavioral lifestyle. Jennie Garth, Carrie Ann Inaba, Pamela Adlon and more have had Kathy in their homes to teach them the Sunday Set-Up program. So far some of the favorite celebrity meals have been the vegetable quesadilla, chicken soup, rice & beans, chicken with pasta, and hardboiled eggs over salad with a balsamic/dijon dressing.

Kathy Kaehler's Tips:

Eating Out-

• Know what you’re getting. You are not preparing the meal nor are you in the kitchen. Many restaurant entrees have hidden fats and salts, so make sure to ask how items are prepared and know what is going into your meal.
• Don’t be afraid to ask for what your want or modify their meal. If you want something grilled or a sauce on the side or a substitution....ASK. You’re the customer.
• Smart option...order appetizers as your meal. Often times restaurants make the portions so large that an appetizer is more than enough for a whole meal. Or you can even ask if an entree is available in an appetizer size.

Trying To Loose Weight-

• The biggest mistake people make when trying to loose weight is cutting out an entire food group. IT DOESN’T WORK. It might be a quick fix but it is definitely not doable as a lifestyle change. You can’t live your entire life without eating a piece of bread or consuming sugar, so don’t do it. Your body will just crave it and your will end up eating more of it.
• Balance is the KEY word when trying to loose weight. Pay attention to what you are eating and make sure all your food groups are balanced. Don’t over indulge in one food group, but make sure everything is just balance and moderation is key.
• Watch your portion control. Only eat 1 serving.

Single Eating-

Sometime being single and/or living alone can be hard when trying to eat healthy and prepare meals. Everything seems like it’s meant for 2 or more people. Kathy’s tip is to do the Sunday Set-Up method and prepare “mix and match” foods that are easy and healthy and make everything you want for the week, then freeze the extra for the next week. This will not only cut down on a lot of cooking time but cut down on the drive-thru trips as well.
